Major urban areas

Major urban areas provide the capital city and up to six major cities in a country defined as urban agglomerations with at least 750,000 people. An urban agglomeration is defined as comprising the city or town proper and the suburban fringe or thickly settled territory lying outside of, but adjacent to, the city’s boundaries. For smaller countries, lacking urban centers of 750,000 or more, only the capital population is presented.
